Sechenov Leaders Clinical Experience: Frequently Asked Questions
Hands-on work with patients is one of the main reasons applicants look closely at this program. Below are answers to the questions asked most often about Sechenov Leaders clinical experience, based only on information published by the university. If your question is not covered, the team is happy to help directly.

Where does clinical practice take place?
Students train at leading medical institutions in Moscow, including clinics of federal significance. These settings provide modern equipment and a broad mix of real cases. For questions about particular clinical sites, contact the program team.
Is practical training more extensive than on the standard track?
Yes. Extended practice is one of the features that set the Leaders program apart from the regular General Medicine track, together with small-group teaching and a personal curator.
Who supervises students in the clinic?
Clinical work is carried out under experienced mentors. The program also emphasizes direct interaction with leading teachers, and its faculty includes practicing clinicians as well as researchers.
How does clinical training relate to theory courses?
Fundamental subjects cover normal and pathological processes in the human body, and that knowledge feeds directly into clinical study. The clinical block is about turning theory into the practical work of diagnosis and treatment.
What is the language of instruction?
Teaching is in English throughout the six years. Russian language is, however, one of the two entrance tests, alongside chemistry, which is the priority subject.
Can I gain extra experience beyond the core plan?
Individual development tracks can include additional internships, master classes and an expanded range of disciplines. Students are also encouraged to attend international conferences, internships and seminars.
Does clinical work connect with research?
It can. Research disciplines are part of the program, and students conduct fundamental and applied projects, defend their results and work toward publication with faculty guidance. Questions raised at the bedside often become the starting point for a study.
What can this experience lead to after graduation?
Graduates receive the Medical Doctor qualification and may continue into residency or postgraduate study, or pursue research projects. Anyone planning to practice in Türkiye or another country should check that country’s rules for recognizing foreign medical qualifications, as no outcome is guaranteed.
